Glenn and Jan are excited and grateful to minister with you in your church. They trust the following information will be of help so that their time with you will be most effective.
LOVE OFFERING: While on the road, Glenn meets his family's expenses through the gifts of God's people. He asks that a love offering be taken for their ministry in your church.
TRAVEL EXPENSES: It helps the Christiansons if some extra can be given to help with their travel expenses (which include gas, meals, and RV facilities in route to the meetings). These expenses are divided between the participating churches. Glenn will give an estimate of these travel expenses when he schedules a meeting with you.
MUSIC RESOURCES: The Christiansons carry music CDs, cassettes, and piano books with them and would like to make these available to churches when they are there. Please click on "Resources" on the left to see a sample of the items that they have available.
SPECIAL NOTE: Glenn and Jan operate their ministry as a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization under the name CMI (Christianson's Ministries, Inc.). Please make checks for the travel expenses and love offering to CMI. This allows them to keep their finances in line with IRS requirements as well as making them accountable to their board of directors.
Because of unexpected time delays on the road, Glenn will call you before arriving and give you an ETA.
Glenn, Jan and their son, Greg, stay in their trailer and will need the following:
The Christianson family eats many of their meals in their trailer, but they do enjoy eating three or four meals a week with your church people. This can be in your member's homes or in restaurants.
Because of special dietary restrictions, Glenn and Jan must avoid eating food with sugar. (Sorry, but this rules out desserts--which is usually a lady's pride and joy!)
Your director will lead your choir in a special number and will lead the congregational songs.
Your accompanists will play for the prelude, congregational songs, and choir special.
Glenn and Jan will have one special number and an offertory.
Glenn and Jan will be responsible for preludes, congregational song-leading and accompaniment, choir specials and accompaniment, offertories, and specials beginning Sunday evening and throughout the week.
The choir will sing for each service.
Glenn and Jan will work with the choir one hour before the Sunday evening service.
The choir will practice each night.
Glenn and Jan have their own choir arrangements of familiar gospel songs.
Beginning Sunday evening, Glenn or Jan will accompany congregational, choral, and other specials on the piano.
We would like your organist to play for the congregational singing.
When the Christiansons are in churches for a full Sunday, they will often do several specials in the morning service and then a full concert in the evening. On Wednesday nights they usually would do a full concert, too. However, this can be trimmed down to fit into the church's schedule.
Their full concerts are about an hour long. They consist of a mixture of traditional sacred music and testimonies by the Christiansons. The gospel message is given during their testimonies as well as a challenge to Christians for further growth. The pastor usually closes the service in the way he feels will be most effective for his people.
The length and format of these concerts can be altered to fit into your church's situation in whatever way you feel would be best.
