TRIP Notes

August 2006

Dear Friends,

The Lord blessed us with our new truck (actually a 2003, but new to us) just in time for our travels this Fall. He worked in such a miraculous way, and we praise Him for it! We are so thankful that He is allowing us to use it for His ministry.

Also, Jan's arm is healing, though the therapy sessions continue.

TRAVEL

We leave Labor Day weekend and will be gone until Thanksgiving time. We have a mixture of concerts, revival meetings, and Jan has three ladies' retreats this Fall. The schedule is on our website.

RIG

We are praising the Lord for a beautiful 2003 Ford F-350 truck. We've been praying and waiting on the Lord for several years, and the Lord worked out the details and price on this one just a few weeks ago. If we were to make a "wish list" of everything we could have wanted on a used truck, this is it! As an added blessing, He allowed us to sell our old one in a short time. The Lord blesses in wonderful ways, and we want Him to have all the glory for it!

When we got the truck, we were at 80% of the needed funds. However, it was such a special blessing from the Lord that we decided to finance the other 20%. We're trusting the Lord for His final provision in His time.

IN THE FAMILY

As you know, Jan fell at the end of March and had multiple breaks & joint displacement in her left arm. She had major surgery and had an external fixator on her arm for about two months. She got a call from Colorado that her dad had passed away unexpectedly the day after the removal of the fixator. We saw the Lord's timing in allowing us to go back for the funeral and how He gave special grace during this difficult time. She has been in therapy since the middle of June, and the arm is healing well, though still slowly and painfully. We're trusting the Lord for complete recovery in His time.

Greg has had a good summer with a week of camp at the Wilds and an opportunity to work with a church in the southern part of South Carolina doing a special teen outreach. He has also stained/painted a number of fences and decks this summer. He started his junior year of high school this Fall.

Glenn is rejoicing that God has provided work and income for them since Jan broke her arm. It's great to see, even in times that seem unplanned to us, that the Lord is working His perfect will in His perfect time!
